Monster Carp host, Korda Head of Media and one of the most recognisable people in carp fishing… Ali Hamidi joins us for the first time.

Simon Pitt speaks to Ali about his career, filming around the world, smelly pants, racism and everything in between. This funny and insightful podcast shines a light on a few things you may not have known about Mr Hamidi. A brilliant listen and funny from start to finish.

Ali has been an angler from an early age, and progressed into carp fishing during his early teens, fishing on some of Essex’s most popular venues. He is now one of the most influential anglers in the UK and is recognised worldwide due to the success of his social media platforms and TV work.

While studying at University for a media degree, he was given the opportunity to work at Sky TV for his work experience. This would later lead to the successful “Thinking Tackle” series and subsequent mainstream fishing TV shows, including Monster Carp, The Big Fish Off and Fishing All Stars.

Along with his TV work, he has written two successful fishing books (Ali Hamidi Carp Fishing Masterclass / The Carpers High) and has been a regular contributor to various fishing publications spanning over twenty years.

Furthermore, away from his media fishing work, he has fished some notable UK Carp venues that include Reedsmere and The Essex Manor. He is also known for his charity work and love of dogs, often being joined by his dog ‘Ronnie’ in his personal fishing.
